early March visit to Reserve |
An interesting 90 minutes at the reserve on Tuesday morning - a bright and breezy day so not many insects about again, but the birds I noted more than made up for this. Here is the list:
Birds:

SC209694 ( hide) Grey Heron flying up from the water; Blue Tit; 4 x Mallard ( 1 female, 3 male)

SC208694 ( damp meadow/ Boardwalk area) Grey Heron; Wren; Great Tit. Hooded Crow flying over.
SC208694 ( compost area /reed bed) Blue Tit x 2; Chaffinch x 2; Great Tit; 2 x Chiffchaff together;
SC208695 (old beehive loop) Snipe put up
SC209694 ( gorse boundary) Wren heard but not seen
SC209694 ( path junction) Long tailed Tit; Song Thrush; Great Tit;
SC208694 ( willows) pair of Chaffinch + additional female; 2 x Goldfinch on willow buds.
Other:
SC209694 fungi reappearing, looks like Scurfy Twiglet again.
