Weather permitting, our next work party will be on Saturday 5th
October between 10 and 1 as usual ( or whatever you can manage in that
time scale). The priority task will be cutting back brambles where they
are spreading into the boundary ditch, round the hazel trees and through
the willows etc. as in previous years. This is not "the light summer
snip" we have been doing recently so you will need work gloves to
protect your hands from scratches etc. You may also need eye protection
in places, so bring your own if you have them, otherwise we have a few
spare pairs. Usual tools : secateurs, loppers, shears etc. if you can
bring your own but we do have some spares.
A few other routine tasks might be cutting back a few branches of willow which are starting to overhang the pavement and the usual ramp and boardwalk work.
Refreshments
provided at half time. BYOM ( bring your own mug! I'll have a few spares if you forget) I'll confirm whether or not the work party is to
go ahead after the 8 a.m. weather forecast on Friday so please check
your email or the Blog before setting out on Saturday.
Look forward to seeing a few of you there.
Sheila
