I saw or heard several on the Reserve today

another Long-tailed Tit elsewhere

I usually hear Pheasants more often than see them on the Reserve

this one seemed to approve of the new boardwalk

why did the Pheasant cross the boardwalk?

to get to the other side, of course!

two Blue Tits were in and out of the old Nest Box

made by Men In Sheds and sold by Charity Shop many years ago

quick exit

a chirpy Robin

there were 7-spot Ladybirds in the nettles...

and in the Celandines

this one was on the stack of planks by the boardwalk

Gorse Shieldbugs are rather like military Tanks

they go straight over the top of obstacles

even when it's a Ladybird!

Gorse Shieldbugs enjoying the spring sunshine

Gorse Shieldbug - note the red antennae

the Hairy Shieldbug (aka Sloe Bug) was still in the same gorse bush.

the meadow is still rather muddy

and usual view of the Hide itself

when the Dandelions close up it's time to go home!

I can guess what the next Work Party task will be!

What an excellent start to the month!
