a chilly January day at the Reserve

It was chilly! Three degrees Celsius, but feeling much colder in the icy, easterly wind. I knew immediately that I wouldn't be staying three hours at the Reserve today! I did manage 90 minutes before heading home to warm up though. Here is what I recorded:Birds:

SC209694 ( hide) male and female Mallard; Moorhen; Blackbird.
SC209694 ( elsewhere) Blackbird; 2 x Blue Tit; 5 x Woodpigeon flying over.
SC209695 male Pheasant.
SC208694 Wren; female & male Blackbirds seen separately; Chaffinch.
SC208695 6 x Chaffinch together in Sycamore tree; Blue Tit; Great Tit; Dunnock; Blackbird alarm call heard.
Other:
SC208694 first Celandine flower of the year.
SC209693 more Celandines in flower.
SC208694 Herb Robert & Hogweed in flower.
SC208694 unidentified white fungus on gorse stem.
