I'm always sorry when we have to put up notices of this sort at the Reserve but I'm afraid it has proved necessary on this occasion. Parents don't like taking their children into a hide that smells of any kind of smoke, let alone cannabis, and our regular bird watchers find it offensive too. Hopefully this notice will leave the offenders in no doubt as to what is acceptable behaviour and what is not.
CANNABIS
Abuse of this Bird Hide by people smoking cannabis was reported to the Police, who now regularly patrol the Reserve with their Dog Unit. A previous illegal smoker found here served time on remand at Jurby prison. Please report any suspicious behaviour to the Police on 631212.
