Ballachurry Reserve, 15th September 2021.

 a warm sunny morning on the reserve

   I paid a brief, unscheduled visit to Ballachurry  today. My husband and I had planned an outing to make the most of the lovely sunny weather. Unfortunately when we came to set out we discovered the car would not start! I decided to walk round the reserve while the problem was rectified and made the following notes:

SC209693  Speckled Wood x 2

SC209694 4 x large Blue dragonflies seen from hide

SC208694 Speckled Wood x 4; Common Blue butterfly; Blue dragonfly seen over the meadow and over the reeds; Robin heard but not seen.

SC208695 juvenile Blackbird; Common wasps on blackberries; Wren; Speckled Wood x 2

SC209695 Small Copper on Cushag ( Ragwort) 

SC209694 Speckled Wood x 4; Hawthorn Shieldbug on Willow; unidentified Hoverflies on Hogweed ; Marmalade fly on willow. Small Copper on Cushag ( Ragwort) unidentified Hoverfly on Rowan berries

I soon received a call to say the car was repaired so cut short my visit until another day.
