A dull, cool afternoon is not always the best time for spotting wildlife, so I did not have have high hopes when I arrived at Ballachurry on Friday afternoon. My visit was primarily to do a recce ahead of next week's work party but nevertheless I did see a few things worthy of note:
Birds:
SC208694 Chiffchaff calling but not seen. Magpie flying over.
SC209693 Chiffchaff or Willow Warbler seen briefly in willows near the road

Although there were not many birds or butterflies about, there seemed to be Marmalade Hoverflies everywhere. There was also evidence that a Rabbit had been killed by a predator ( I've spared you the photo!)
