William Cain, a former Chairman of the Manx Wildlife Trust, and his wife, Felicity,  recently organised a reunion of Island student friends, some of whom now live "across". The Group were treated to a series of interesting outings & hospitality during their stay and it was a real pleasure to show them round Ballachurry Reserve on Wednesday morning.

The weather conditions were not really conducive to good wildlife watching but we saw some colourful plants and I was able to detail the wildlife that some of these supported. I was delighted to spot a Tortoise Beetle of the Cassida family on the Burdock near the gate, just as the Group were leaving ( my usual reliable Shieldbugs had let me down on this occasion!) so we did see both Flora & Fauna at the Reserve.

I do hope the individual members will return to the reserve when time permits to discover and enjoy its increasing bio-diversity.
