Ballachurry Reserve, Work Party cancelled again! Monday afternoon instead?

Sorry to say that we are cancelling tomorrow's work party yet again. Once the words "heavy and persistent" start creeping in there really is not much point, is there?

However, there is a much better forecast for Monday afternoon so regular volunteers have been asked if they would be able to come along from 2 p.m.  Obviously this will preclude anyone who is working, but if we can muster enough volunteers for the tasks in hand the Work Party will be re-scheduled.

A couple of areas were strimmed during last week's dry weather so the main task this time will be raking off/ barrowing away. Not nearly as onerous as last time though, as the grass & rushes etc were not very long. We need to dig out a couple of plants that are growing in the wrong place and if time and conditions permit we may do some light bramble pruning in the ditch. Grid paths can probably wait until the long, hot summer yet to come, unless we find ourselves with time to spare.

Checklist: Work gloves, wellies, rake/spade/fork/secateurs/loppers. We'll have some spares and a couple of barrows.

I'll update the Blog on Sunday regarding this.

Enjoy your week-end whatever the weather.
