Ballachurry Reserve: work party 15th September 2018.

The weather forecast for Saturday morning looks OK at present so we are going ahead with our work party. Please see earlier posts for details of intended tasks.

Wellies and waterproof gloves if you fancy clearing the short section of stream that leads into the reeds (good idea to pop on a plaster if you have any skin abrasions, just in case)

Usual tools if you have them - loppers, secateurs, shears etc. Spades / shovels for stream & grid laying. An old screwdriver can be handy for weeding the board walk; Stiff brush for getting dirt & flaky paint off hide ( bring your own eye protection if you have it although we have a couple of spares) Work gloves.

If you are susceptible to itchy bites from harvest mites at this time of year then insect repellent / waterproof over trousers might help keep them at bay.

Although we still have some disposable cups it would be good if people could start bringing along their own mug to work parties for the tea break in future. I'll try to bring some spares each time as they are easily forgotten, I know.

As always, if the weather forecast changes for the worst overnight please check the Blog for any last minute cancellation before setting out.

Look forward to seeing some of your there.

Best wishes,

Sheila
